Even a brand-new vehicle needs thorough decontamination before any PPF or ceramic coating goes on. The IS 350 started with a full foam pre-soak and two-bucket contact wash using pH-neutral shampoo and soft microfiber mitts. Iron decontamination spray was applied across all lower panels and door surfaces to dissolve bonded metallic particles. A clay bar treatment followed across every painted panel to pull up any remaining surface contamination. Once clean, the vehicle was dried using filtered compressed air to avoid any contact marks from towels.
This step is not optional. Trapped contamination under PPF or ceramic coating causes adhesion failure, and on a fresh Lexus that is the last thing anyone wants to deal with.
With the surface fully decontaminated, the IS 350 moved under our LED shop lighting for a full panel-by-panel inspection. We checked for any transport swirls, light marring, or surface irregularities that could affect the final result.
The IS 350’s paint came in very clean, which made this step straightforward. Each panel was wiped with a dedicated surface prep solution to strip any remaining oils or residue before film and coating application began.
Model-specific XPEL patterns for the Lexus IS 350 were loaded and cut using our in-house plotter. This approach eliminates the need for blade trimming directly on the vehicle and ensures accurate film coverage on each panel without exposed paint at the edges.
Panels were staged individually in clean sequence before installation began. The IS 350’s front bumper geometry, sculpted hood, and forward-facing panel transitions were all accounted for in the pattern setup to make sure the film lay correctly through the contours without tension or lifting at the edges.
Film installation started with the hood and worked across the front end panel by panel. Each section was applied wet using a slip solution to allow precise positioning before the adhesive fully committed to the surface. Squeegee passes ran from center outward to push all solution and air uniformly toward the edges.
The front bumper received careful attention around the lower grille openings and the bumper’s forward edges, which are among the highest-impact points on any sedan in highway driving. All edges were tucked or sealed cleanly. Post-heat was applied to all curved sections and transitions to lock the film permanently into shape.
Panel-by-panel inspection happened as each section was completed, not just at the end. Any adjustment needed was made immediately rather than waiting for the final review.
With the PPF set and the vehicle re-prepped for the coating stage, XPEL Fusion Plus was applied panel by panel across the full exterior. Each panel was coated using a suede applicator in crosshatch passes to ensure even coverage, then leveled with a clean microfiber towel, then followed with a secondary leveling towel to confirm a clean, streak-free surface before moving on.
The coating was applied to all painted surfaces including doors, rear fenders, trunk lid, roof, rear bumper, and all exterior trim areas. Each section was given proper dwell time before leveling, and the full application was completed in sequence without rushing any panel.
Once coating was complete, the IS 350 moved into a controlled indoor environment to cure without dust or moisture contact. After the cure period, we completed a full inspection under multiple lighting angles, checking coating uniformity, PPF edge condition, panel transitions, and overall surface consistency.
Everything cleared. The vehicle was cleaned up, tires dressed, and glass wiped before the owner walkthrough. Our Team addressed every question the owner had about aftercare for both the PPF and the ceramic coating, and the car left the shop looking exactly the way the owner envisioned it.
